About the Event

During this introductory course, students will cover basic information they will need to consider when deciding to start their own garden. Topics include: ~What zone do you live in, and which plants are best for it? ~What type of garden is best for your home? ~Why is soil health important? ~How do I take care of my garden? The class is delivered in a lecture format with some slides and in-garden demonstrations on my farm. This course is a great way to decide if the student is ready to explore gardening and where to begin in the process. More in-depth and multi-day courses will be offered that allow students to work with me in planning their garden, sharing their experience with one another, and receive guidance during the growing season. Previous gardening experience is not required.

Classes are $12 per session and meet at 10 AM or 1 PM on Thursdays
